Stephanie McCarter-Dadzie is originally from Ghana, West Africa, but currently lives in Maryland. She is a senior majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations with three minors - Law and Society, Business, and Inequality Studies. On campus, she is the Alumni-Liaison of Les Femmes de Substance, a professional development organization for women of color. She is also a Meinig Family Cornell National Scholar, Publicity Chair for Ghanaians at Cornell, and is a member of the African Dance Repertoire. She has been a Summer Intern at the U.S. Marshals Service, a Student Intern at the Charles County Sheriff's Office, and a Human Resources Intern at an NGO called “Una Biblioteca Para mi Pueblo” in Lima, Peru. This past summer, she interned as a Human Resource Generalist at Cummins Inc. For the 2017-2018 academic year, Stephanie will be studying Politics, Philosophy, and Law at the St. Catherine's College of the University of Oxford in England, U.K. a She has a passion for social justice (specifically criminal justice and education reform) and hopes to establish a career as a civil rights attorney in the future.
